From Christoph: “Evil needs that quiet slide. More often than not you can dodge it when it comes screaming out at you.”
What a fucking great line, off the cuff, by such a brilliant guy. Unfortunately, I don’t think the Jews in Hollywood are going to give a Nazi an Oscar. Although they did give Ralph Fiennes a nod in Schindler’s List. Here’s hoping.

Really enjoyed this podcast. It’s a pleasure listening to an actor who actually knows about and respects his craft. Can’t wait to watch the movie.

That was a kick ass show I loved it and I loved the movie. It was like 20 minutes to long. I would have cut some of the bar seen with the drunken soilers and you can always add the cut sceens on the DVD

      Love the show

      What a great interview.

Here we are coming off last year’s high that was Ledger’s Joker, and out of nowhere comes this guy that no one in the states has ever heard of, just blowing us all out of the water.

I want this man to be showered with accolades, awards, and more American film roles.

Talented, diverse, ridiculously intelligent, -and off the record-easy on the eyes.

Just saw the movie…I enjoyed the three scenes where this guy did a fantastic sunbathing crocodile act (farmhouse scene, cafe/pastry scene, and shoe fits scene) and loved/hated the tension while I wondered when he was going to make his move and the jaws were going to snap shut. A big thanks to the podcast, I would not have to see this without having heard it. Oh yeah, this movie has the best use of a song since Layla in Goodfellas…David Bowie’s PUtting Out Fire while the chick is getting ready to torch the place

One of the best podcasts partly because of the respect Adam has for Waltz. What an amazing episode and movie.

      Great job.

Wow… I finally saw this movie, and I just had to come back and re-listen to this podcast. I remembered how impressed Adam was with Christoph’s performance in it… almost to the level of butt kissing.

Goddamnit, though, the ace man was right. Waltz really did steal the show in Basterds. What an amazing performance, bravo!

Great podcast (as always!).. Just as a sidenote I find it weird that he leaves Adam in the assumption that he’s German while actually he’s from Austria. BTW, I’m not from Austria so I’m not here to point it out or that it means anything.. just thought he might have cleared that up when someone calls him German to his face.

This one is a no-brainer at the Oscars. Waltz walks away with the best supporting actor award. Who was better?
