(Before I start: great podcast. I listen to it almost every week.)

      Hold on…
      “Milk is 90% pus.” ???
“Cheese is GUARANTEED to give you cancer.” ????
“There is no way you can digest meat.” ???

My hat’s off to you, Adam. I wouldn’t have been able to resist making fun of him for those remarks.
Would that have made me racist? ;)

Brevity aside: when someone makes statements like that is makes me think they don’t actually know what they are talking about. How can I take his line of food seriously when he makes statements like that.

Haven’t you learned anything? Adam’s MO is to call someone out on bullshit BEFORE or AFTER they appear on his podcast …. NOT during the show, and definitely NOT to a large black man

I take that back, I suppose “Ray the superman” could take this Salley guy.

The guy is a racist. He sees all white people as against him and by proxy, Obama.

BS. He asked a valid question. If you were to just watch Fox news you’d think the whole country was up in arms against the President. That’s not racist it’s just paying attention.

      Great podcast once again Adam!

But, Salley is plain wrong about his ideas on diet and nutrition. Just look at him in the picture you took of him for the podcast. Like most vegans or strict vegetarians he looks like a wilted flower.

I’m saying this out of respect for John Salley as an ex-athlete and over all stud. But, he doesn’t know what he is talking about when it comes to nutrition and the human body, just like many comments have pointed out before me regarding his comments on nutrition.

Forget about his comments about milk and dairy products (I too choose to stay away from too much but still occasionally have it). But…

Humans can’t digest meat!? What? I find it hilarious to listen to vegans or vegetarians talk about health and nutrition because most of them don’t know that first thing about nutrition. The sad part is that they have health in mind when making the switch in their eating lifestyle but the sad truth is that they are actually making their health worse.

Like one of the comments before me stated, it is funny that vegans often eat foods made into meats. Talk about hypocrisy? Don’t even get me started on the ingredients (fat/chemicals) put into these products that they are putting into their body with health in mind. Besides that they then cook these foods in fat, grease and junk. How is that healthy?

I once had a nutritionist who I respect turn away one of my clients (I’m a athlete/trainer) because they were a vegan/vegetarian. His excuse? Because when you are on a strict vegetarian or vegan diet your body simply cannot get enough nutrients (protein) to maintain it’s muscle mass and over all health of your organs. Did you hear that? Your organs die!

We humans are carnivores. We are not cattle, horses or hippos. We need protein to sustain our muscle mass or we will die. Without meat… You simply cannot get enough protein in order to replenish your muscle mass. What is our most important muscle? Our heart! You would have to eat gallons of tofu every day to get the proper amount of protein needed for your body that could be easily received from eating a good portion of lean meat (preferably white) at every meal.

I like John Salley but he is absolutely wrong in promoting a vegan or vegetarian diet to Americans. He needs to get his facts straight before trying to make money off the American people with false information. It sounds like he believes what he says so I don’t think he is a jerk but he is wrong, wrong wrong.

Eat complete conservative meals with whole lean meat, carbohydrates and vegetables at every meal and nobody will be over weight or unhealthy because of their diet.

Don’t eat processed foods (like John Salley’s products) and you won’t fill your body full of toxins, additives and chemicals.

      Oh it gets better!

List of products from John Salley’s Foods:

Double Bake Herb Crisps: Crackers (what is Adam’s rant on crackers? Which is right.)

      Chipotle Crisps: Crackers

Chipotle Pepper Jam: Sugar, preservatives and fat

Habanero Pepper Sauce: Can’t see the ingredients but more Fat, preservatives and sugar I’m sure

Peach Chipotle Sauce: More Junk we don’t need

Garlic Chipotle Sauce: Same as above

Primo Olive Oil: Healthy but often used in excess

Great ‘cast!! Great guest, even if he had a couple of dumb comments about food, but hey you aren’t a genius at everything either or lets say politicians don’t know what they talk about, they get passes.

Loved the asshole, racist comparison which seemed to enlighten Sally a little, and took it real cool, have him on aging sometime.

      GET IT ON.

      Get it on!

This guy makes factually ridiculous comments and logically fallacious statements. I would give him a pass on it because he must be either shockingly ignorant or just desperately trying to sell his product. But how can you let it go when he touches on such a deeply religious topic that is so close to your heart and one that divides the nation: MEAT!!

He’s got to be called to the mat on the “can’t digest meat” remark. Umami!

John’s recent statement that ‘All of white america hates obama” is clearly racist. If a white person was to say ‘all of black america hates Bush” then that would clearly be racist. Why the double standard???

    16. This particular podcast was talked about on AM radio Adam, I think the Brewhause Show or something like that….lol, cool!

Good Heavens, is John Salley out to lunch. Nice guy, but come on.

Do 10 seconds of Googling with words like ‘Protestors media call Bush Nazi’ or something like that, and you’ll get reams of references. As well as pictures. From the MSM, to boot. Did John Salley just start paying attention to the news for the first time in his life, once Obama started his campaign?

Adam strikes me as a pretty well-grounded libertarian, who deftly handles delicate political discussions when his guests don’t know what the f— they are talking about. Good for him. Bad for Salley, if he ever seriously wants to talk about anything other than sports.

Blacks have only started following politics since one of their own got involved (kinda like golf and Tiger Woods) They are ignorantly unaware that different news stations have political agendas. Since anybody says anything negative against Obama they think their a racist. Pure ignorance! The race card has been flushed down the toilet and they are trying to grab it back out. Too late the jig is up and that card has been flushed out to sea forever! Deal with it and get on with your life/race in a positive way, without handouts or sympathy from others.
