No, Adam was correct. The amount of surveillance in this country is frightening, whether it’s done by state and local governments or corporations. What did he say to object to?
He has in mind an outcome based system where celebrities dont get hassled by having their images captured in public without getting paid.
But how do you define such laws? Clearly people are allowed to use still cameras and video recorders in public. What if you are taking a picture of your family by the departure gate and Lady Gaga wanders drunkenly past- you arent allowed to keep that shot because she is in the background?
You cant even make a bright line discrimination based on profit- what if someone put the photos on their personal blog but there is no de jure profit? The own the photo, and it was taken in a public place- why shouldn’t they be allowed to publish it? Maybe they build page views to their site or build up their own notoriety but there is no ’sale’ of the images so how do you prevent publication without running afoul of the First Amendment?
I dont see how you criminalize a whole class of behavior and work it so the only people who are criminals are people who are bugging Adam.
Adam has mentioned that celebrities can be treated differently because they’re “public figures.” Maybe he just wants the law applied to everyone the same way, regardless of popularity.

Anyway, how do you define a law like Adam is looking for?
-Its illegal for any one to take photos or videos in a public place?
- Everyone in any photo taken in a public place has to sign a waiver?
- There is a special registry of “celebrities” and it is illegal to take pictures of them?
I know what Adam wants but I dont think it is easily accomplished.
This was an awesome podcast, I was laughing so hard during the rant about Adam’s funeral I almost had to pull over.
I think Adam does have good chemistry with a lot of people, especially Dr. Drew, but I’ll agree that his chemistry with T and BB is the best. You can really tell that they all love and respect each other and they play off each other well.
