Unfortunately it’s on the previous page, but in response to that Slug guy’s suggestion that Adam gets to know the First Amendment – Adam has demonstrated a lack of either knowledge or respect for the Constitution as a whole, and rather recently. With Donny, he was suggesting people who pay more money in taxes should have more voting power, and just recently with Dr. Bruce he claimed no one has any rights except the right to try to succeed in our economic system. Something to that effect, something that made it really seem like he just doesn’t believe in human or civil rights. It’s worth hearing to get his exact quote, but quite frustrating to hear. I don’t understand what his view of America and the world are when it doesn’t involve the basic systems that our country and civilization (if you want to call it that) run on.
Hey, still a great show when it doesn’t get political. I enjoyed Pt. 1 of this cast.
I agree. Whether Adam likes it or not, our country isn’t supposed to be set up to favor the wealthiest… and no, I am not a “super lefty”, I identify as a strict constructionist and don’t favor a government bigger than it needs to be.
Part of the consideration in drafting the Articles of Confederation and Constitution was the idea of quelching elitist entitlement that was prolific in Europe. There are plenty of individuals (think Paris Hilton) that are rich because they were born rich, they didn’t earn that… why should that equal more political power in terms of voting? Even those rich because they earned every penny (like Adam) aren’t more entitled to their opinion than the poorest americans, at least in the founding father’s eyes.
Paying more taxes into the system cannot equal more power. Why? because it will create an aristocracy not a democratic republic which is what we are set up to be.

You guys are missing the whole point. The point he’s making is, why should people who make more money have to pay more taxes? It is unfair…so they might as well get more political power in return. Because if you’re gonna be forced to pay more than others below you, you should also get more power than them. Both are unfair.

I think Adam has Larry Miller on the show because Larry is a close friend of Jerry Seinfeld. Adam’s using Larry to get to Jerry. Adam’s a cold-blooded networker and careerist, and that’s my guess as to why he’s so chummy with Miller. I think Miller is a superb comedic actor, but not much of an observational comic.
