love the show… the sound distortion makes it somewhat difficult to enjoy. don’t get me wrong, i’m extremely grateful for what adam’s doing for the fans.
i enjoy the in depth interviews in particular – michael anthony, paul shaffer, etc..

Just curious, is “Dick” his real last name? It’s a stage name, right? Why did he chose that? If it’s by chance real, what the heck is the origin of that name? As a last name that is. I realize that “Dick” is a nickname for “Richard.” Speaking of which, how the heck did that come about?
I have a thing for names. Like mine — my family must have anticipated that BMW would someday come out with a cooler version of the Mini Cooper & that I would just have to fall in love with a car that’s got the same name!
In ye old times, most last names had to do with the occupation. If there was more than one John, they would say ‘John the blacksmith’ which became ‘John Smith’. As well as ‘Fred Butcher’…..’Henry Carpenter’….etc. Traits or characteristics were also used: ‘Michael Tongue’…..’Steven Foot’…..’Alexander Head’….etc. I don’t know if Andy’s last name is made up or not, but he is known to have a huge slong.
There is no point to splitting up the podcast into 2 parts. I will listen to the podcast how I want to and breaking it up just makes an annoying break.
Is this the podcast where you mentioned Phyllis Diller? Um, I’m pretty sure she’s still alive.

Still an interesting interview though some of his stories reek of BS, ie the Heath Ledger bit.
