Ugh. Had such hopes for this podcast. Turned it off the second Lynette said “…and if you’re not into vaccinations, that’s okay…”(slightly paraphrased). I fully understand that her comment was to encourage new parents (mothers) during the first days/months/years. HOWEVER, the last thing the world needs is another Jenny McCarthy encouraging folks to NOT vaccinate their children. Suggestion: Have a show about vaccinations with…say…Dr. Drew and hit the questions and debunk the myths.

I will give your parenting podcast another shot and wish y’all well with this effort.

There’s plenty of shows on TV and the internet on immunizations etc. This show seems to be an off the cuff explanation of parenting from the mother’s perspective (emphasis “experiment”). Come on, are you going to demand Adam bring in an economist to explain the effects illegal immigration have on LA? Relax.

Did I imagine it or did Adam rant about just this type of modern day mom advice not too long ago?

Theresa, I like you and think you’re smart and funny, but, please, tone down the glorifying-your-neuroses act. Woody Allen pulled it off, but it’s done to death now. It’s not cute, and definitely not funny.

I love it when people complain about something that they weren’t forced to listen to in the first place. Unless you were held captive in some sort of ode to Clock Work Orange shut the f up. Leave the rants to the pro’s. I have a feeling 95% have tried the breast milk the other 5% are just lying about. The saddest thing about the internet is all that haters that live in their jealous little bubbles knocking down everyone else that does something. If you can do better do it. If you can’t shut the f up and go away…..and keep YOUR opinions to yourself…

waterboarding or this podcast trying to make sense. Tilt me back and keep the water coming.

Adam’s dad on the sax and talking two bit psychology, or having Dr. Conrad Murray be my primary care physician. dead either way.

Awesome! FINALLY some un-prudish real life talk about mommy-hood. I followed Theresa’s blog while pregnant and now am glad to have something as equally relatable as a new mom. Thanks ladies!

I enjoyed the parent experiment. As a guy, it provided me with sympathy towards mothers and it gave me some practical thoughts. It was also an entertaining show.

I don’t have kids and listened just to hear T. Loved the show. Probably not something I would listen to regularly but great program. I’ll recommend it to my brother (he has two kids). Good work T!

I love the podcast, it gives me a little joy in every day. The Parent Experiment is great. I love T and have always wanted to hear from Lynette. Any chance of a live show in the Seattle area? Thanks Adam (and Donny).

You mentioned the potty training at birth. I have a funny story about that. Last year at this time I took my neice around to do the girl scout cookie order thing. We came to one door and the woman hollered from the middle of the house just a second! Potty Training, be there in a minute! We smiled and waited. And imagine my surprise when she came to the door a moment later carrying what appeared to be a 9-12 month old infant. We did the cookie thing she ordered, and then I asked, Me: You mentioned you were potty training, how old is your baby?
Mom: Oh she is 11 months old, 1 year in two weeks!
      Me: Wow that is amazing!
Mom: yes I am very committed to not using diapers, this method is far better for her, me and the environment!
Me: Yes I imagine so, congrats.

Then we leave when we hit the sidewalk, I turn to my 7 yr old niece and laughingly say: That is not going to end well… LOL

Well cut to this year, back doing the cookie thing. We knock on the door, husband answers looking very disheveled, says No sorry we are all sick. We smile wish them a speedy recovery and turn to leave. We hear a desperate cry from in the house. Husband runs out the door, looking embarassed and says “Uhm we need cookies, it seems.” He orders. While he is filling out the sheet, I ask,
Me: You lived here last year yes? You have a nearly two year old daughter?
Dad: Yes and yes we do.
Me: Oh yes I remember meeting your wife and daughter last year, adorable girl. You were doing infant potty training, I was impressed.
Dad: Rolling eyes, laughing through his hacking cough…. Yeah, uhm that didn’t go so well…we are waiting now until she is older.
Me: Ah, well good idea, again hope you all feel better soon.

Turn to walk down to sidewalk. My now 8 yr old neice without missing a beat laughs and looks at me and says “Well you called that one…but I don’t think it made them sick though!”

LMAO…no sweetie just sick and tired…just sick and tired…

Sorry so long but it was this past weekend, and really did make me laugh.

    17. I really enjoyed this, thanks a ton =)

Nevermind, I’m an idiot. The posts RSS worked just fine to subscribe to the podcast. It normally doesn’t so I hadn’t even tried it.
