Love Rowdy Roddy. Always have. He’s the most interesting wrestler there has ever been. He works great as a guest. Please have him back soon for a longer visit.
One of the best on the podcast so far!! Please bring him back! I would love to hear more stories!
Ace: best guest of the podcast era. Roddy has so much history I could see him adding a lot with his own show, but I realize that is probably not realistic. Please have him back for a more lengthy history. He seems to have ten times the history that he talked about on this ‘cast. Fantastic interview. Thanks both Adam and Roddy.
“Just when they think they got the answers, I change the questions!”
Great podcast! Please have Roddy back with Cousin Sal, and let’s hear some more crazy wrestling stories. I’d love to hear his thoughts on steroids and Vince McMahon. Get it on!
Really entertaining podcast!
wow….after donny shaved ….RRP could be his dad…crazy
One of my favorite podcasts so far, hope they have him back for another!
This was one of the best!
1. I can only hope that I look that good at 58 or 59 or whatever age RRP said he was.
2. @ Kyle: Simply put, in the Wrestling Scene of those early days, you either went where they told you go and fought who they told you fight, and paired up with who they told you to pair up with…..or you didn’t get much more work in Wrestling. Period.
3. (and most importantly): Roddy, PLEASE tell us that that “Dog Food” story was made up.
Now, I’m not all that upset that Dog was served for dinner (it’s all meat as far as I’m concerned), but…..DAMN.
4. @ The Honorable Adam Carolla:
This Podcast was as awesome as your Dad’s solo effort was awful (by himself, I’m saying; maybe if you teamed up with him, it might be something).
IMO THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST ACE PODCASTS EVER.
Roddy Piper? He wore a dress! Why didn’t you book the frisbee guy, Leaping Lanny Poffo. Oh well, you gotta start somewhere.
I couldn’t figure out the deal with RRP and his coments on Pro Wrestling. It almost sounds as if he thinks the matches were real. When he was talking about beign asked to “take a dive” or “throwing a match.” it really seemed like he believed that he doing the real deal. I hope this is just old habit from brainwashing back in the 80’s. It would eb a shame to think that he REALLY thinks he was actually wrestling guys like the Hulk and Andre the Giant. G.I.O
never took a dive? really? what a fag we all know that bs is fake just like he is. “oh my partner was at fault if we were gonna take a dive” what a pussy
One of my favorite podcasts ever. I was eleven years old in the early 70’s in the Chicago suburbs watching pro wrestling. I’ve seen virtually every person Roddy mentioned wrestle on weekend TV back then. What a trip down memory lane that was for me.
Thanks Ace, and Roddy
P.S. I tossed in my $2.99 and tell everyone I know about your show. “Doing the Lords work”
Great podcast!
This is why Carolla is an artist.
I’m so self-defeatingly cynical, I thought “Roddy Piper? I hated wrestling as a kid.”
Roddy is an amazing man, it turns out. I felt like a kid at grandpa’s feet, listening to stories…with the Ace Man asking better questions than I could have.
Humans are neat sometimes.
Best podcast yet. Get RRP back ASAP!
OK, the dog eating story must be just a story, Harold Sakata played Oddjob, not Toru Tanaka. Also Mr. Fuji and Tanaka were tag team partners for years.
