Show Summary
Adam and Ray chat about the ongoing process of building the new studio, and Adam makes fun of his dad for still not seeming to care about any of the work that’s being done. They also respond to an email about a slowly sinking porch step, and a guy looking to spiff up his fireplace without damaging it.
On the phones this week, the guys help a caller dealing with plaster walls for the first time, and also talk to someone trying to retile his bathroom after a toilet supply line ruined the floorboards. Later, the guys respond to a question about cleaning and sealing granite countertops, and as the show wraps up, the guys select the first official winner of the Maxxima Bright Ideas contest.

thanks dude bro
Who knew Ray was a Santorum supporter? I mean, look at that sweet sweater vest!
I believe the blonde actor with the scars who played bad guys in 70′s tv shows is named Richard Lynch.
Is Ray’s sweater vest cropped above the belly button ? Wow
Either a ballistics vest, or he’s too cheap to dry-clean. Love ya, Ray!
Ace – listen to Ray! I own a house built in 1949 with plaster over button board. I use the $29 Harbor Freight multitool with the $8 diamond blade to cut precise small holes in the wall, such as for outlets/switch boxes. It works great!!!
I do not like the new intro. I liked the last one… the rock-sounding one. It was way better… it felt like a show. This new intro feels cheap/stupid. Please switch it back!
Matt – PLEASE stop playing the Taboo theme song. Getting really old.
The new intro sucks. It’s far too bland and cheesy.
The new intro sounds like Brewer & Shipley. Something punchier, please.
Who wears a sweater vest with a short sleeve shirt? WTF Ray?
Dick Banks needs to do the intro!!! He’s the master! This intro blows.
I know it isn’t going to make any difference, but this show is getting harder to listen to when every lunkhead that calls in feels the need to inject his commentary with obscenities. Having attempted to get a job in construction, I realize most of the guys who do that sort of thing are painfully dopey and ignorant, but it didn’t used to be reflected in the callers until this podcast had been around for a while. I realize the hosts swear occasionally, but it doesn’t make you (the callers) clever to join in. We don’t all get to be “buddies” because we can’t use real words like adults do.
Anyway…
Guys sounded kinda trashed. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Makes for even a funner podcast.
It’s a show that uses the Taboo 2 theme song as its own (killer by the way). How bout you do something productive like sucking a muffler.
PLEASE no more Taboo 2 themesong!! Its been over used at this point. Other than that, great show guys. Great info with a fun twist.
I work in a hardware store that sells lots of fireplaces, wood stoves, that sort of thing. We always suggest people use a cleaner called Speedy White to clean brick and stone around fireplaces.

Oh yeah and I’m a huge fan of the Taboo Two theme!!! Loved it since Adam was on Loveline!!!!
That guy with the burned ear looks like the actor Chris Cooper!
