i just got a mercedes g320 and a bmw x5 35d prototype and i get low 40’s high 30’s mpg and i also just put a banks system on the gl and put a perfomance chip in it and im maxing out at around 180 on the track its amazing and the gl just rides nice it was worth the 75,899

Banks added a poorly filtering cone filter, cut off the muffler, chipped it, changed some suspension bits and covered it with stickers. Thats it? That doesn’t even qualify as noobie-level modification.

The interviewer summed up the Jetta perfectly, “I’d say fire this one up, but who cares.”

The point is not that electric cars are bad because the electricity still ultimately comes from coal…

the point is, that if everyone’s car is powered by the grid, a) no more foreign oil dependence, and b) the government can start supplying that electricity with energy from nuclear, solar, and wind power, and be completely transparent to the consumer.

I listen to the podcast everyday in my Jetta TDI so this carcast was of great interest to me.

I love the subject, but Adam, give the expert a moment to talk!

Horsepower doesn’t matter so much in turbo diesels. The long flat torque curve is the replacement for the peak power of older cars. That’s why Gale doesn’t want to talk HP numbers!

Anyway, keep up the good work guys.
